Manual vacuum

  1. Connect the hose to the head and to the skimmer (or the bottom drain).
  2. Purge the air from the hose by submerging it until no more bubbles come out (otherwise the pump loses prime).
  3. Vacuum slowly, in strips, without stirring up dust.
  4. If there's a lot of fine debris, set the valve to WASTE (no filtering, water goes to drain) so you don't clog the filter; top up the level afterwards.

Robot cleaner

  • Electric (standalone) robots are the most convenient and efficient: they don't load your pump.
  • Clean its filter/basket after each use.
  • Take it out when it finishes; don't leave it submerged for days.

Before vacuuming

Brush walls, steps and dead zones to loosen the dirt; the vacuuming will be far more effective.
